About College of the North Atlantic
College of the North Atlantic (CNA) is Newfoundland and Labrador's (NL) only public post-secondary college, and one of the largest educational and skills training centres in Atlantic Canada. With a network of multiple campuses throughout the province, CNA offers over 100 full-time programs in business, technology, health sciences, natural resources, and the arts.
CNA has been a major contributor to the workforce and innovation needs of NL's $4 billion mining sector for nearly 60 years. The college operates at the intersection of industry needs and academic research, ensuring its graduates and research outputs address real challenges facing Atlantic Canada's natural resource industries.

Role Within MICA
As a Main Partner of the Mining Innovation Commercialization Accelerator (MICA), CNA serves as the Atlantic regional hub—connecting the mining innovation ecosystem of Newfoundland and Labrador, and broader Atlantic Canada, to the national network.
CNA's Mining Network Development Officer liaises with partners and helps grow the MICA network by connecting academic, research, non-profit, and industry partners across the Atlantic region, helping to eliminate the gap between research and implementation.

Your MICA Regional Lead
Chantelle Troy
College of the North Atlantic / Atlantic Lead
Born and raised on the Northern Peninsula of Newfoundland, Chantelle is a business development and project management professional with extensive experience supporting industry partnerships, contract training, and stakeholder engagement. She holds a Bachelor of Commerce from Memorial University of Newfoundland.
Chantelle spent years as a fundraising professional and public relations specialist working with rural hospitals in Ontario, during which she also obtained her Sommelier Certificate from Algonquin College. Since moving back to Newfoundland in 2012, Chantelle has held various roles with the College of the North Atlantic including Student Development Officer, Instructor in Business Administration and Strategic Leadership & Project Management, and Business Development Officer with Customized and Continuous Learning.
Chantelle joined CNA's MICA team as the Mining Network Development Officer for the Atlantic hub, where she liaises with partners and helps grow the MICA network through connecting academic, research, non-profit, and industry partners across Atlantic Canada.
